As a child, Connie Huddleston loved history and dreamed about her future as an award-winning author. However, she got sidetracked and became an Army wife, a mother, an elementary school teacher, an archaeologist, and an historic preservation consultant, all before publishing her first book! Now in 2022, she has published 16 volumes, all dealing with her first passion (don’t tell her husband and children) — our nation’s past. She’s even won several book awards.
Connie writes fiction under the name C.M. Huddleston and history volumes under her full name. Her time travel series written for middle grade to young adult readers occupies much of her thoughts as there is so much to consider—like can dogs time travel?
She resides in a log cabin near Crab Orchard, Kentucky, with her husband, a retired Army officer, and an Australian Shepherd named Katie and an Bernaussie (Berner/Australian Shepherd, named Gus, for Augustus McCrae in Lonesome Dove. Both dogs often time travel to far off meadows to chase deer and turkeys.
In 2016, Connie won her first writing award. All of her fiction books have garnered awards except Greg's Fifth Adventure in Time, as she forgot to enter it in any contest.
